Florida college students win yearbook censorship flap over state’s LGBTQ invoice

SANFORD, Fla. — After an outcry from college students and oldsters over yearbook censorship, a Florida faculty board overruled their superintendent’s plan to cowl up a web page exhibiting college students waving rainbow flags and a “love is love” signal throughout a walkout towards the state’s so-called “Don’t Say Homosexual” legislation.

It caught the eye of lawmakers together with Democratic Rep. Carlos G. Smith, Florida’s first LGBTQ Latino legislator, who tweeted that the “censorship is a direct results of the legislation these college students had been protesting. #WeWillNotBeErased on this so-called ‘free state.’”
